Supporting the Next Generation, Timisola Shasanya
At Watteau, nurturing emerging talent is not a side initiative, it is part of our DNA. We believe in creating real opportunities for young creatives to bring their vision to life, supported by professional environments and meaningful collaborations.
Recently, we had the pleasure of supporting Timisola, who was offered the opportunity to shoot the lookbook for her IFM Master’s degree collection at Le Studio Confidentiel. This project reflects our commitment to giving promising designers access to the tools, spaces, and expertise they need at pivotal moments in their careers.
Currently studying Menswear at Central Saint Martins, Timisola’s work explores gesture and movement as a foundation for design. Her collections engage with critical race narratives and the experience of being an African migrant, drawing from her upbringing between London, Nigeria, and rural Kent. Through intricate textiles and experimental cutting, she continues to build a strong and thoughtful design voice.
To document the energy behind the shoot, Watteau commissioned photographer Clément Boudet to capture exclusive behind-the-scenes imagery. Awarded the Audience Prize at the 39th International Festival of Photography in Hyères, Clément brings a sensitive and contemporary eye to storytelling, perfectly complementing the spirit of the project.
By connecting emerging designers and image-makers, we aim to foster creative dialogue and help shape the future of fashion and visual culture. This collaboration is one of many ways Watteau continues to invest in the talents of tomorrow.
